Electronics companies in the Canterbury region design and/or produce high-tech electronic products, such as:
- Radio communication equipment
- Automation machinery
- Remote control systems
- Sonar technology
- Power generation systems and much, much more!
There are around 80 electronics companies in the Canterbury region, varying in size from one-man-bands to those with more than 200 employees.
Canterbury’s six largest electronic firms - Allied Telesis, Dynamic Controls, Tait Electronics, Trimble Navigation NZ, HumanWare and Eaton Electrical - contribute around 40% of New Zealand’s total electronics output.
